The RL-direct driver enriches Rasterlink with all Productionserver benefits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What Productionserver does:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>PDF handling<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Profiling &amp; Color Management<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Special Ink layering (white, silver etc.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Color Replacement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Creating cut paths<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What Rasterlink does:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Print modes \/ quality<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>UV lamps settings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Specific micro weaving algorithm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to setup?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To enhance your workflow add the RL-direct driver to your system. Four simple steps are required:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Step 1) Import Rasterlink profiles<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Step 2) Disable Colormanagement in Rasterlink<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Step 3) Hotfolder creation in Rasterlink<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Step 4) Set up the RL-direct driver in Productionserver<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>______________________________________________________________________________________<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Schritt 1) Import der Rasterlink-Profile<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. After downloading you preferred Rasterlink profile from http:\/\/eng.mimaki.co.jp\/ please open the Mimaki Profile Manager<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Click \u201cDevice profile installation\u201d and select the downloaded ICC profile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Open Rasterlink and navigate to the Quality tab (Alt+Q) <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.colorgate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/quality-rl.bmp\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1402\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.colorgate.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/12\/quality-rl-1.jpg\" alt=\"quality rl\" width=\"42\" style=\"width: 42px\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Please find the \u201cColor Matching\u201d settings on the right hand side. After creating the preset \u201cWithout RL CM\u201d it is possible to disable the CM in Rasterlink. Select the profile that you want to use for this hotfolder in the \u201cPrint Quality\u201d tab. Click on \u201cUpdate Favorite\u201d to use these settings in your hotfolder preset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6. If all settings are defined, click the \u201cHot folder creation\u201d button . The \u201cHot Folder\u201d window opens. Open Productionserver, click \u201cPrinter\u201d, and select \u201cNew\u2026\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"258\" height=\"123\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.colorgate.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2015\/06\/printer-new-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-558\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. The \u201cImport MIM\u201d dialog opens. Click \u201cImport MIM\u2026\u201d if you have an existing MIM, otherwise click \u201cNext &gt;\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Define the paths the driver will use. The following paths can be defined: Archived Jobs, Printer Definition and Hotfolder. Click \u201cNext &gt;\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6. In the \u201cHotfolders\u201d dialog the default hotfolder settings can be defined and additional hotfolders can be added. Click \u201cFinish\u201d in the \u201cAdvanced Settings\u201d dialog to create the driver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>______________________________________________________________________________________<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Printing with special inks<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. To print with special inks (white, silver, primer, or varnish) first the job has to be imported into Productionserver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.Now double-click the job and open the \u201cColor\u201d tab. After clicking the \u201cSettings\u2026\u201d button navigate to the \u201cPrint Mode\u201d tab. After confirming with \u201cOK\u201d it is necessary to replace the spot color for the job accordingly: Click \u201cColor Table\u2026\u201d on the \u201cColor\u201d tab, double-click the replacement color, and select \u201cDeviceSpot\u201d and \u201cDeviceWhite\u201d as displayed in the screenshot. As a last step in Productionserver we recommend to control the spot color replacement. If it is replaced correctly the spot color areas are replaced by a red pattern (see below). After the job has been printed in Productionserver one file per layer is created. In our case two files \u2014 one for white, one for color. Select \u201cValid Pixel\u201d and make sure that the right ink set (here \u201cWhite\u201d) is selected. Once this is done a separate white layer is created and the job is ready to be printed.
